Mobile App Privacy Policy

Sports ID Technologies AG ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the Sports ID mobile application („Sports ID app“ or „app“) which is accessible via the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. It explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our app. Please read this policy carefully.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information from or about you: When using the app:

  • Location Data: IP-based location
  • Device Information: IP address, hardware information, browser, operating system
  • Usage Data: app interactions, time zone, language being used, crash logs, random unique visitor ID, time of first visit, time of previous visit, number of visits, advertising ID
  • Analytics & Performance Information: location data, device information, usage data

When registering in the app:

  • Personal Information: name, email address, nationality

We collect this information in the following ways:

  • Personal Information: Manual entry by the user
  • Location Data, Usage Data, Analytics & Performance Information, reference ID for push notifications: Through the app and via third-party services

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • Contract performance
    • We process your Personal Information in order to provide you with the services offered by the app.
  • Sending push notifications
    • When you consent to push notifications, we process your device ID once for the purpose of creating a reference ID (Firebase Installation ID).
  • Performance analytics and usage tracking
    • We use Sentry and Matomo to provide and improve app functionality. When you consent to performance analytics and usage tracking, the following data is collected: location data, device information, usage data.
  • Advertisement
    • In the app, we display ads provided by AdMob. AdMob is an advertising service provided by AdMob Google Inc. Please read this overview of how they use information from sites or apps that use their services. By consenting this Privacy Policy, you consent that the following data is collected: Unique device identifiers for advertising (Google Advertiser ID or Apple ID For Advertising), IP address, user product interactions, diagnostic information.
  • Complying with legal obligations
    • Data will be processed to comply with our legal obligations (in particular tax and company law retention obligations). Your data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to fulfill the aforementioned purposes after which it will be deleted immediately.

3. Sharing Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • Third-party service providers: Google AdMob, Firebase, Apple Push Notification service (APNs)
  • Business partner: Sportdata GmbH & Co KG (for event registration)
  • Hosting partner: Research Industrial Systems Engineering (RISE) Forschungs-, Entwicklungs- und Großprojektberatung GmbH (Austria)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Information we receive from other sources

We process event, ranking and athlete related information provided by Sportdata GmbH & Co KG. We refer to their Privacy Policy for according requests.

If you log into our app using your Google or Apple credentials, we receive your name and email address as permitted by your according account settings in order to authenticate you.

  • Withdraw consent

You may adjust your privacy preferences within the app settings.
